event format

DeSci.Berlin is teaming up with Funding The Commons for our 2023 event.

DeSci.Berlin’s goal is to deepen our attendees’ understanding of decentralized science, and specifically, of biotech DAOs (BioDAOs).

With a practical lens, DeSci.Berlin invites participants and attendees to delve into the construction of BioDAOs, discussing diverse aspects and nuances, from key strategies, to governance, and funding considerations - a program designed to equip you with the essential know-how to navigate and grow your own BioDAO.

day 1 - friday

DeSci.Berlin x FTC

On the 8th, DeSci.Berlin takes the main stage, with insightful talks by key players in the field. Topic specific workshops and side-discussions will also be held in a dedicated space (the DeSci.Berlin Stage) on the same day and continued on the 9th of September. Attendees will delve into the complexities of decentralized science, from innovative research funding avenues to the conceptualization of biotech DAOs.

day 2 - Saturday

DeSci.Berlin x FTC

On the 9th, Funding the Commons takes the main stage, and will feature a unique emphasis on builders and interactive programming. In contrast to the storied academia of its Paris event, Berlin FTC will celebrate the hands-on spirit of creation and innovation. Likewise, the FTC Stage will run across both days, alongside the main stage, with insightful workshops and topic focused discussions.

FAQ

1
WHere Do I BUY TICKETS?

Tickets for this edition of Desci.Berlin x FTC can be purchased here. This ticket will allow you to attend both days. If you didn't get tickets, you can still tune into our Live Stream on Youtube.

2
I’m a scientist or working in DeSci, which day is better for me to attend?

Both days will feature DeSci talks, panels and workshops. The main stage on the 8th of September will focus on DeSci topics, while the 9th will be focused on Funding the Commons topics. However, attendees are encouraged to attend both days as the conference is interactive with both topics aligning across both days.

3
I bought a ticket for Desci.Berlin. Can I also attend Funding The Commons?

Yes! It's one partnership event - DeSci.Berlin x FTC. If you buy a ticket here, you automatically have access to both days and can attend any talks and workshops across the two programs.

4
Where do I apply to speak at the event or host a workshop?

You can apply to speak or host a workshop here.

5
DO YOU NEED HELPERS?

We’d be thrilled for some folks to join us for these two days and help to show our attendees around, keep track of the program and just be available for any operational questions that might come your way. Our helpers will be paid, financially and with eternal gratitude! If you want to be included here, please fill out the Volunteer Application Form!

6
Do you offer financial support to attendees or speakers/workshop hosts?

Yes, we have 5 travel grants available. If you otherwise couldn’t make it to the event, you can apply with the Travel Grants Form. We want to reserve those to folks that require them, and want to prioritize under-represented people and scientists.
